Oh yeah, forgot to mention

The big box of stuff. What started with a frustrated posting here, ended with a radio story here.

Listen, if you'd like to pick over the remains of my...uh...me.

That slideshow is the best. Before my last move I edited my box a bit. Well actually I edited my two boxes into one box. The box is now sitting in my storage unit.

For some reason I can't let go of certain scripts from high school, college, post-college. Because...you know...I wrote my blocking and acting notes in them. ??? What do I think I'm going to do with these scripts? "Hmmmm, one day I might be asked to play Rizzo in a conceptual, mid-life-crisis version of Grease, so that script could really come in handy!" Sigh.

I predict that another edit will occur the next time I move, but even if it's only a shoebox, I'll always have a box.

packratting is a bad habit... but, yea: these little pieces of paper with little words on them! they are valuable. I have tried to make a habit of either scanning these things, giving them new digital life and tossing the originals, so at least the image is somewhat immortalised (at least in SOME way) somewhere -NOT dead and gone or recycled or burned (although burning is romantic) and even if I forget about it completely it STILL EXISTS in some dusty digital corner of a harddrive somewhere... or a flickr acct. (not so dusty, but still somewhat forgotten BUT able to be found again more easily) ...other issue with the digital transer of this however: data transfer. Most of my floppy disks fromcollege are beaten-up too badly to read any longer. "Precious" data lost. mhhh. which is at least one argument for cloud applications i suppose...

I love this story. I love that you contacted the people from the box. I expect I would have written you a note like that if you had invited me on a picnic . . . (no, it wasn't me).
