KID: BUT HOW CAN YOU BE SIX WHEN YOU'RE AS TALL AS ME!
KATE: Ugh. I was born with something called dwarfism. And what it is-- (KID runs off, then returns)
KID: BUT YOU'RE NOT TALLER THAN ME!
KATE: I don't think you know anything about dwarfism.
KID: I KNOW ABOUT SOMEONE WHO DIED WHO MY MOM LIKED! A LOT!
KATE: Ugh! You don't know anything about anything!
KID: THAT'S NOT TRUE! I KNOW THAT MONSTERS AREN'T REALLY ALIVE!
KATE: Oh brother. Never mind.

3 year olds are stoopid
i like that Kate - she has moxie!
This says so much about pre schoolers.
Go KATE!
Wonder what we can learn from the fact that each is totally right from their individual perspectives?
Oh, and Nancy, aren't you supposed to be working instead of reading JohnMoe? I know I am!!
And yes, Kate DOES have moxie. I'm proud of her!
My wife had 8 surgeries for tongue and ear enlargement from a few years old until 18. There is not a suspicion about her (nor, I gather, never was) that there was the least problem with the way she looked.
Nor is there!
And I think Kate clearly has the right 'tude. I love her "oh, brother."
Clearly, though only six, Kate is already well-equipped for the challenges of life w/ dwarfism. Well done, parents. I would have been tempted to teach her to answer all such challenges by calling the other kid an "oversized poopyhead." So...it's probably good I don't have kids.
Kate has way more patience than I would (even in adulthood) have in that situation. She's a good girl with great things ahead of her.
Perhaps Kate and SK were re-enacting the political debates they've been hearing...
I only wish adults were more sophisticated than three-year-old kids. Some will be, some won't. She'll probably get tired of it, but will do a great job. That kid has an extra dose of fortitude.
omg she's so smart, i love it. I'm sure you guys have seen this but we watched that HBO special they made a while back, "Happy to be Nappy" there is a story in there about a young girl with dwarfisim and she's so articulate and sweet. reminded me of Kate. If you haven't seen it you should def check it out!
Yay for Kate! Nice to see you tweet about Kate, too. As a father of special daughters myself, I can see your love come through.
