"I'm curious, is there anyone onstage tonight who does believe in unicorns?"

The moderator asked an asinine question, though. You can't "believe" in evolution. It's not a matter of faith, despite efforts to make it into one. The question is, "Do you accept in the greater part the principles behind the scientific theory of evolution: humans are the end result of four billion years of cellular evolution, in which species appear and go extinct, and that the earth is perhaps billions of years old?" Now that's a real question. "Do you believe in evolution?" is like asking, "Do you believe in gravity." "No, I don't believe in gravity. But through lifelong empirical evidence, I accept that an unseen force provides attraction between matter that keeps me flying into space, no matter how hard I try."
